Chris Bondi, District 13 Toastmaster, presents a workshop that will focus on how we as speakers can move our audiences to listen, laugh, think, and cry without words. Through a series of fun examples and exercises, participants shall practice the subtle (and not-so-subtle) art of nonverbal communication that is crucial to effective speaking. And, remember… nonverbal doesn’t mean non-vocal!

Betsy spent her career moving up the corporate ladder and when she thought she had reached the pinnacle of her journey, discovered it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. She is now a program/project manager, still in the corporate world and also runs two side businesses with aspirations of leaving the corporate world in the near future. One business is jointly making and selling stained glass suncatchers with her husband and another is helping families gain financial independence even with the economy the way it is now. She has been a Toastmaster since 2011 (ACS, ALS), has filled many leadership roles both at the club, Area, Division and now District level as the current Public Relations Manager for District 13.
Chris holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Duquesne University, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Carlow University, and a B.A. in Theatre & Communications from Slippery Rock University. He is an Assistant Professor of Communication at Butler County Community College and has 25-years’ experience as a theatre, film, commercial, and improvisational comedy performer.

Marci’s journey in Toastmasters began seven years ago with a simple desire to overcome the fear of public speaking. On the way toward that goal, she discovered so much more! She found a community, fellowship, mentoring, and personal growth. She was fortunate to have this quality experience, and says that “it is something that every Toastmaster, experienced and new, should expect to benefit from every year in D13.” As our Program Quality Director, she is committed to bringing the highest caliber Toastmaster experience to all.
